A Slight Change In Plans...

So I'm sure this will come as a shock - it was to us as well - but we are moving to Denver! We really had no intention of moving AGAIN, but we've learned to follow our hearts and go where fate leads us, so we felt this was the right thing to do. Two things happened at once to facilitate this move: First, the economy fell apart. We own and manage 130 condos at the Inn and have to pay dues on them all year. In the past we've had construction crews come for the spring/fall which are the off seasons here. But with the economy, most development has come to a screeching halt and we just don't know what to expect. Things are fine now, but Lance was starting to get nervous about the next few years. The second thing that happened was that Lance got a call out of the blue from a guy he used to work with at P&G. He had left the company to take a marketing job in Denver. The company happened to be looking for a finance manager and he wanted to know if he could recommend Lance.... In a few short weeks Lance had dusted off his business clothes, gone down to Denver for two interviews, and gotten a great offer.

When we decided to move here, things just started falling into place in a way that reassured us we were making the right decision. Our house sold without putting it on the market, etc. We feel this is the same situation - how can you pass up a great job when it falls on your lap in this economy?

We have very mixed emotions about the whole thing, but in general we are looking forward to the next chapter in our adventure. I felt like we made it through the hardest time out here (being pregnant my first winter, making new friends, etc.) and now we are leaving just when we are starting to really enjoy it, but at the same time Denver has a lot to offer and I'm sure we'll adjust pretty quickly down there. So, here we go again!

  2. Congratulations, Laura and Lance. I'm sure you will love Denver. My cousin does and I loved it when I was there for a too short summer (ballet school).
