Mystery Fruit (or is it a vegetable?)

What do you call a fruit (or vegetable) that LOOKS like a cantaloupe on the outside, SMELLS like a cucumber, and RESEMBLES a green cantaloupe on the inside?

CANTALUMBER?

CUCULOUPE?

Whatever it is, we have many, many growing in our yard. My plants disintegrated in the hail storm, but I guess if one hail storm could wipe out an entire crop of plants, the human race would have died out long ago. Like a pheonix out of the ashes, my garden grew back and is now making me wonderfully happy. EXCEPT, the obvious dilemma of having no clue what is growing. Seriously, what is this thing?
